I have been a martial arts practitioner for over 20 years and had the privileged and honor to have started my training under Prof Kelly Worden. In my opinion, Prof Worden is the most forward thinking and progressive instructor out there.  If you are  looking to learn a system that works and without all the ineffective”flash”, I would strongly encourage you to check out the Worden Defense System.

I grew tired of using trainers that did not feel like and weigh the same as the blades and tomahawks I have.  It all started with making trainer that matched my large and small Wortacs, a Prof Kelly Worden design.  My custom Pat Crawford Wortacs have been my EDC for almost as long as I have been training.  From there I just started making my own trainers. Since I wanted a better quality trainer, I used the same canvas micarta for my handles as my live blades. I went to to Rockler and bought to coolest, visually appealing, exotic woods I could for my tomahawk handles. I wanted stuff the looked cool.

As a result, while attending seminars, people started asking me where I bought my trainers. I said “I make them”.  People are asking if they could buy them or if I could make one for them. I never set out to sell them.  Heck, I have made and given away a lot more than I have sold.  Friends asked for me to make them a trainer to match their blades, so I did.  More and more people have said I am crazy for not throwing up a page to showcase some of the trainers I have made. I am sad I don’t have pics of all the trainers I made. Like I said, it just started as something I was doing because I wanted a better trainer.   I decided to put up a page to show some of the work I had been doing.
