My friend and great instructor John Borter of Modern Self Defense Academy wanted to create a signature blade. These are the original prototypes

Saw a cool YouTube video of Todd Taganashi from Renegade Wing Chun profiling the James Keating design Crossada. It looked cool so I had to make one to explore its functionality.

Todd Taganashi from Renegade Wing Chun  introduced me to the Hell’s Bell Bowie.

Joe Watson Magni Trainer

Spyderco Warrior

Spyderco Pygmy Warrior  (and my almost finished trainer)

Spyderco Enuff Sheepfoot

It is pretty much what you will find on me somewhere everyday (in addition to what else you may SEE me carrying). Yoda said “always two there are” or at least two!

Spyderco Schempp

I do love training with this also

Cold Steel Sub Hilt Fighter  This is pretty much my favorite trainer.

I have long been curious about the function and feel of the Bram Frank designed Abaniko, so I needed to make one to explore the design.

Winkler Field knife. Just need to add my tribal markings.

Large WorTac –  The left is my trainer, middle is my Pat Crawford custom, and the right is my original Timberline Gen I Wortac. I love the way the handle design pulls and seats the knife into my palm.

Small WorTac

Kopis Designs L-Via knife. Its a reverse grip pikal style knife designed by Ed Calderon.

WSK Tracker

My TOPS Tom Brown Tracker2

Guadana. It is a collaboration between former SEAL Tracker Dan and Ed Calderon. Requested with brown micarta instead of the wrapped handle to match a set of trainers I am making.

My TOPS Wortac5. This is a BEAST of a blade. If you drive the tip far enough into a tree no doubt you could stand on it!

This is the first knife I ever made.  I did it at 16. Because at 16 in the 80’s everyone wanted the survival style knife on the right.
